baseline intensity and some reporting low
or medium intensity. Armenia, France,
Hungary, Israel, Russian Federation,
Serbia and Slovenia reported positivity
above 10% in sentinel primary care
surveillance. Influenza A(H3N2)
predominated overall with a few influenza B
detections.
• RSV activity declined in most European
countries.
• Influenza-confirmed hospitalizations in
intensive care units (ICUs) decreased
overall this period. Influenza positivity
among severe acute respiratory infection
(SARI) cases was 8% among those
reporting data.
• Pooled all-cause mortality estimates from
the EuroMOMO network remained elevated,
particularly among the elderly.
